Narrative
The Morphett family are mentioned in "Tenterden Old and New", p51 as residents between 1798 and 1802. A Thomas Morphett, late of this Corporation, gent, died 05.04.1795 aged 83 leaving four sons, Thomas, John, Robert and George. Mentioned in the will of his brother-in-law John Neve in 1848, so alive then and living in Wittersham.
