Narrative
Mentioned in the will of Mary Neve, who had inherited an oak high
backed chair and a 'quaint ivory and black scratch back'. The 1851
census shows her staying with her sister Sarah at Pullington,
Benenden and described as the Lady of the Manor of Oatfield. She
inherited Ote Hall, Wivelsfield from her father William. It was sold
(presumably on her death) in 1881 to a Maj Gen R T Goodman.
