Narrative

Obituary : "Christina Neve, nee Siemonsen, was born Aug. 5, 1867, in Germany. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith, in which she remained a faithful member. At the age of 13 she left her native land and came to this country, settling near Kankakee, Ill.
On Sept. 6, 1884, she was married to Claus Neve. To this union ten children were born, Katie (Mrs. Fred Seedorf) of Walters, Mary (Mrs. Fred Sauke) of Walters, George of Walters, Emma (Mrs. William Westney) of Walkerton, Ind. Celia (Mrs. Walter Hermesdorf) of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Lillian (Mrs. Glenn Miller) of Albert Lea.
In the year of 1896 she and her family moved to Minnesota, locating on a farm about five miles south of Wells. About five years later they moved to what is known as the home place. There they resided until 1914 when they retired and moved to the village of Walters.
n Dec. 13, 1929, her husband passed away. A couple of years later she broke up housekeeping and went to live with her aged mother. When her health began failing she went to live with her oldest daughter, Mrs. Fred Seedorf, until five months ago, when it became necessary to take her to a hospital. Five weeks ago she became ill with erysipelas. About a week ago she contracted bronchial pneumonia, which caused her death on Wednesday, December 2, at the age of 69 years, 3 months, 28 days.
Her husband, one stepson, Peter, and two sisters preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her death, her aged mother, Mrs. Wesendorf; one brother, Henry Siemonsen; her ten children, two stepchildren, Anna (Mrs. Uhrlich of Chicago, and Henry of Des Plaines, Ill., 42 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren besides other relatives and friends.
After a short sermon at the home of Fred Seedorf Saturday, December 5, at 2 p.m., the funeral with
the Rev. Schrietmueller officiating, was conducted from St. John's church at Walters, with burial at the Walters cemetery."
