He became a freeman of the City of London on 6th November 1822 at the age of 21. Was apprenticed to his father on 06.10.1815 and served a term of seven years as an apprentice learning the trade of a furrier.
He was made free of the Goldsmiths' Company on 06.11.1822. It was during his apprenticeship that his father died and he finished his apprenticeship under the charge of his mother. He was given a lavish

Giesler on 17 May 1862. He was then described as being of 4, Upper Woburn Place, Tavistock Sq, St.Pancras, and of 13 Cheapside in the City of London, Furrier. Buried in vault at Kensal Green Cemetry on 3rd January 1838.
