Narrative

He was baptised on 09.01.1874 at St.Philips, Sydenham whilst living at Sydenham Park by the Rev George H P Barlow. He was the son of Edward John Griffith, stockbroker. RNVR service during the Great War. He served on HMS Alsation in 1916. He wrote a book based on his naval experiences which was privately published and Sally Doust has a copy. He died in poverty in care of monks at St John's Abbey Alton, Hants. Stated as aged 29 in Mar 1903 at the time of his marriage. Enlisted in RNVR 25.11.1914.
Awarded the Star, Victory and British War Medals (Ref ADM 171/90 page 44).
