Travelled to Russia in 1881 on a passport held now by NJFN. Travelled there again in March 1883.
Copies of letters written from St Petersburg, Russia on Aug 9/21 1881, Nov 10/22 1881 and from Brailof on Sep 12/24 1882 held. He was tutor to the son of a Russian diplomat who was the Russian consul to Bulgaria and called Hitrnov.
